Abstract

This paper describes tests carried out to derive parameters for linear, low-order models for generating plant. Gas turbine, hydro and steam plant are covered. Different forms and period of test signals are used and measurements are conducted in open and closed loop situations. Power system representation and noise are discussed. The estimator convergence and the detection of bad data are mentioned. Verification of results using cyclical tests is described. In general good results are obtained from the tests.
