Abstract

ABSTRACT A computer-controlled, low-noise, fast-response potentiostat for use in trace analysis, kinetic and theoretical electro-chemical studies has been constructed from commercially available integrated circuit components. The selection of the stat configuration and the operational amplifiers, the arrangement of their gains, for the optimum performance, and methods of minimizing the noise are described. Schematic diagrams are included and an example of increased sensitivity in single drop square wave polarography as a result of fast sweep rates and rapid double layer charging is discussed.
