Abstract

A dual-polarized antenna array with novel baffles is proposed for base station application. To meet the challenge of the decoupling in MIMO systems, the baffles are implemented in a $2 \times 2$ MIMO antenna array to efficiently suppress the mutual couplings among antenna elements. As a result, the proposed antenna array operates in 3.2-3.8 GHz with low mutual coupling characteristic. In the proposed array, the mutual coupling coefficients between antenna ports are lower than -18 dB over the operating band. With the advantages of low coupling characteristics and simple structure, the designed antenna array is a good candidate for base station antenna in sub-6 GHz band.
