Abstract

Video streaming over Internet has caught lots of attention in recent years. Nowadays more than 50% of the global data traffic is consumed by video packets and it will be more than 80% by 2020. Live streaming is challenging, because it needs real-time methods with low latency. Smart phones and tablets are the new generation of personal computers with the ability to do some of our daily routines. Live streaming between two mobile devices has many applications such as: surveillance, video chat, and etc. In this paper we proposed a method to stream live video from a mobile device to another one, using a web-socket. For evaluation, we have implemented an open source library on android, being usable for anyone who wants to use live video streaming as a part of their application, and demonstrated that our method can play remote video with lower than 2 seconds delay in different scenarios. Furthermore our method increase and decrease latency according to network condition in order to give a better quality of experience to the viewer.
