Abstract
The effect of lithium carbonate additions on cordierite compositions have been studied, thus bringing the compositions in the quarternary system Li20-Mg0-Al203−Si02. Improved thermal expansion properties were observed in some of the cases, and a body having 20.0 x 10−7 average coefficient of thermal expansion between 20°-1000°C has been obtained.
