Abstract

With eigen-functional method, we study the low energy behavior of the over screened N-channel Kondo model, and under linearized approximation, we give a general asymptotic expression of the local spin–spin correlation function, in which the correlation exponent is determined by phase shifts produced by scattering potentials. Moreover, we demonstrate that the temperature dependence of the local spin susceptibility and specific heat shows non-Fermi liquid behavior for large channel number N⩾2, which is consistent with the exact results obtained by the Bethe ansatz and conformal field theory.
