Abstract

Objectives: Spinal anaesthetic (SA) and opioids are often used to provide peri-operative analgesia for patients undergoing arthroplasty. ERAS® society guidelines for elective hip and knee replacement published in 2019[1] strongly recommend against the use of spinal opioids. The aim of this study was to report the impact of low dose spinals and local infiltrative analgesia (LIA) on patients undergoing elective hip and knee replacement following the implementation of ERAS protocol.
