Abstract
Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy occur in 5%–8% of pregnant women; they disproportionately affect people of color and are a leading cause of severe maternal morbidity and mortality. In addition, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy cause approximately 15% of premature births. Low-dose aspirin (81 mg) therapy has been shown to be an effective mechanism to prevent preeclampsia, especially when implemented early in pregnancy in patients at high risk. The goal of this project was to improve the screening for and provision of aspirin therapy early in pregnancy in women at risk for preeclampsia.
