Abstract

Nano-photocatalyst MnTiO3 powder was synthesized by the sol-gel method and characterized by Powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and Scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The efficiency of MnTiO3 perovskite was examined on trypan blue dye. The effect of various adsorption parameters like dye concentration (2-200) mg L-1, solution pH (3-11), adsorbent dosage (25-150) mg, contact time (0–90) min on the extent of removal of trypan blue dye was studied in detail. The results show the prepared perovskite nanoparticles achieved maximum adsorption of 99.5% for trypan blue at 0.1g/50ml in 60 min. The use of effective, low-cost and easily available MnTiO3 photocatalyst for the adsorption of pollutants in water under natural sunlight.
