Abstract
Shopfloor control is the link between the planning and administration and the actual manufacturing process. In SME’s, in which there are few staff to perform planning and preparatory work, shopfloor control becomes the information backbone to the entire production process. The concept of shopfloor oriented technologies embedded in a workorganization, which requires the development of human skills and experiences seems to be the best way to proceed in the direction of more flexibility in the production process of SME’s.
