Abstract
A novel low-complexity transmit antenna selection (TAS) scheme is proposed for spatial modulation (SM) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems towards large-scale antennas. In contrast to the conventional optimized Euclidean distance antenna selection (EDAS) scheme, the proposed scheme is capable of reducing the search complexity by efficiently searching the candidate antenna subsets assisted by depth-first search. Our performance results demonstrate that the developed scheme can substantially reduce the search complexity in the context of large-scale SM-MIMO configuration, while achieving comparable bit error rate (BER) performance to the optimal EDAS scheme.
