Abstract

AbstractThis article presents a method for simplifying the programming and implementation of the space vector modulation (SVM) algorithm, applied to the prototype of the three‐phase inverter for stand‐alone photovoltaic pumping system using induction motor. In this system, the control is usually based on V/f constant approach. It is known that the SVM approach is fully with mathematical formulas which complicate its implantation. The purpose of this work is to reduce both the SVM algorithm complexity and program size, which becomes about 2.55Ko, and this achievement done based on two procedures: the first, must fixes the location of angular set points on the trajectory of the reference voltage vector. The second is precalculation of the switching times and that is make it feasible and simple due to the technique V/f constant ratio. The proposed method makes the SVM algorithm implementation in the microcontroller PIC18F4550 more easier and tested in the real time platform to control the three legs inverter feeding an induction motor as load. The simulation and experimental results of the proposed method are presented and compared with the theoretical results of conventional SVM. The obtained results are very satisfactory for this kind of application.
