Abstract

Dr M.A. Taylor (Area Museum Council for the South West, c/o City of Bristol Museum and Art Gallery) and John Fowles (Lyme Regis (Philpot) Museum) write: 'It is now possible to answer the query made by one of us (J.F.) concerning the whereabouts of Harrison's correspondence with pioneer palaeontologists, summarised by Lang (1947), and of Harrison's juvenile specimen of the eponymous dinosaur Scelidosaurus harrisoni, figured and described by Owen (1861). All had been bequeathed to the Museum in 1937 by Harrison's youngest daughter. Miss Mary Harrison, together with other books and fossils.
