Abstract

AbstractThis paper presents a lossless robust data hiding scheme based on histogram shifting. The proposed scheme divides a cover image into non-overlapping blocks and then calculates the arithmetic difference of each block with a private key. A threshold is set to decide the actual payload, and another threshold is adaptively determined to conceal the presence of hiding data. Experimental results show that the original cover image can be recovered without any distortion after the hidden data have been extracted if the stego image has not been altered, and the hidden data can still be extracted while the image quality is satisfactory. Meanwhile, compared with previous works, the scheme has higher payload and better image quality.Keywordslossless data hidinghistogram shiftingtrace of secret data
