Abstract
This study is dedicated to analyse the tools and technical equipment of the hydraulic mills that worked in the main rivers of the Guadalquivir valley at the end of the Middle Ages. Using as basical references the information given by seven notarial contracts written about the tools of these industrial buildings (documents dated between the years 1497 and 1528 and referred to hydraulic mills powered by vertical wheels and horizontal waterwheels from the Guadaira and Guadajoz rivers), it exposes the main components of the hydraulic system and the tools emplaced in the mill' room that were used in order to milling the wheat.
