Abstract

This article offers a short synthesis of Spain's situation during the Restoration (1875-1895). This is seen from the international point of view, through the most prominent steps taken by the Spanish governments, es well as other important political events of the quoted period. This synthesis does not omit the revision of several significant myths currently valid in our historiography and also includes various new analysis, a result of intensive research for many years in Spanish and Foreign archives.
