Abstract

Present essay analyzes 1939-1978 concordatary activity. It also studies the principles that renewed Church and State relations and made possible the institution survival: progressive abandonment of the ius publicum ecclesiasticum ecclesiology; acceptance of the Holy See spiritual sovereignty and recognition of ist international personality; assimilation of the Concordat to international treaties by virtue of the principle pacta sunt servanda.
