Abstract
The schools known as “Altos Colegios” were built in the neighbourhood of the Macarena, in the late nineteenth-century, at a time of great building developments in Seville. Those schools were later radically transformed, and most of their original furniture got lost. Francisco and Ramon Almela’s photographs, preserved at the University of Seville, allow us to fi gure out the original state of those buildings.
