Abstract

Researchers at Los Alamos and Oak Ridge national laboratories in the US have developed alternatives to the expensive platinum and platinum group metal (PGM) catalysts currently used in fuel cell electrodes. Newly reported work on direct atomic-level observations provides unique insights into the efficiency potential of these low-cost catalysts for automotive and other fuel cell applications.
