Abstract

The Lorentz symmetry in the light-cone string field theory for the bosonic open-closed mixed system is studied. A Lorentz transformation law of the string fields is proposed. The classical action is not invariant under this transformation due to diagrams which contain closed string intermediate states. The commutator of two Lorentz transformations does not close at the classical level due to the same diagrams. It is expected that these diagrams are canceled by quantum effects and the exact Lorentz symmetry is realized at the quantum level.
