IN VOLUME NINE OF STUDIES IN BIBLIOGRAPHY (1957), Robert Hay Carnie gathered together and listed Lord Hailes's Contributions to Contemporary Magazines (pp. 233-44). He led off with sixteen contributions to The Edinburgh Magazine, or Literary Miscellany, the largest number to any periodical, during the years 1785-91.
