Abstract

A continuous flow method was developed for the determination of chromium (VI) with lophine chemiluminescence. Activated alumina was effectively used for separation of Cr(VI) from metal ions such as Cu(ll) and Cr(lll) which interfered with the determination. The detection limit was 20 ng cm-3 without preconcentration and the relative standard deviation was 3% at 50 ng cm-3 of Cr(VI). The method was applied to the determination of Cr(VI) in water samples.
