Abstract
An analysis is made of the GLEEP oscillator measurements on thorium cartridges before and after irradiation (1·44 neutrons)kilobarn maximum) in the NRX reactor at the A.E.C.L., Chalk River. A simple theoretical model for neutron behaviour is assumed and basic nuclear data are adjusted to enable this model to predict the GLEEP experimental results. It is found that if the neutron yield from 233 U, η 23 is lowered by approximately 1 per cent the best agreement between experiment and calculation is obtained, but the discrepancy obtained using ‘world’ nuclear data is not significant.
