Abstract

In this paper, a planar-distributed three-beam gun with Long-Periodic Cusped Magnet (LPCM) focusing system is presented, and the three-beam electron gun is designed and optimized to get desired model. With proper optimization a beam radius of 0.08 mm is obtained with beam current of 3×0.15 A and voltage of 22 kV. The beam compression factor is 5 for the 0.18 mm beam tunnel radius, and the axis separation of the adjacent electron beams is 0.46 mm. Long-Periodic Cusped Magnet focusing system consisting of permanent magnets and pole pieces have been used for transporting the three-beam. The simulation results show that the three-beam electron gun match well with Long-Periodic Cusped Magnet focusing system, and the three-beam array can transmit 45 mm more stable.
