Abstract

This paper discusses recent advances in the research on stable, long-lived distonic radicaI cations, with a speciaI emphasis on ion-molecule reactions. Reactions used to generate stable distonic ions and to characterize their structures are briefly reviewed. The reactivity of distonic ions toward organic molecuIes is discussed and compared to that of even-electron cations and conventional radical cations
