Abstract

Recommendations for “adequate intake” of the essential trace element molybdenum (Mo) in infancy have been based on its supply by human milk [NAS 2001] and are set at 0.3 µg/kg/day. These recommendations were derived mainly from analysis of Mo concentrations in human milk. Longitudinal data reporting the range of Mo intake in breastfed infants are scarce. Therefore, longitudinal investigations of Mo intake and retention were performed in healthy breastfed infants.KeywordsHuman MilkInvestigation PeriodAdequate IntakeDietary Reference IntakeBreastfed InfantThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
