Abstract
Recommendations for “adequate intake” of the essential trace element molybdenum (Mo) in infancy have been based on its supply by human milk [NAS 2001] and are set at 0.3 µg/kg/day. These recommendations were derived mainly from analysis of Mo concentrations in human milk. Longitudinal data reporting the range of Mo intake in breastfed infants are scarce.
