Abstract

Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is defined as “a goal-directed, bedside ultrasound examination performed by a provider to answer a specific diagnostic question or to guide the performance of an invasive procedure.”1 Utilization of POCUS by practitioners has been shown to improve procedural outcomes, diagnostic accuracy and patient satisfaction.2
