Abstract

Abstract T 1 and T 2 measurements of Cl NQR in PrCl 3 are explained assuming one-dimensional XY spin dynamics for the Pr chains. From the evidence of the temperature dependence and the relative relaxation rates for the two Cl isotopes, T 1 relaxation is attributed to fluctuations of the longitudinal Pr moments while T 2 relaxation below 5 K is attributed to fluctuations of the transverse Pr moments.
