It is, therefore, no wonder that medicinal honey, whose antibacterial effect was already known in Ancient Egypt, is becoming increasingly popular . The active principles of medicinal honey have been largely deciphered today: The most important component of honey promoting the healing process is considered to be the enzyme glucosidase.
