Abstract

We studied the long-term behavior of 160 6-meter eight-cell Iarocci type streamer chambers under typical operating conditions for 400 days. Two chambers failed during this test, corresponding to an average failure rate of 1.3±0.8% per year. We also observed large systematic variations of chamber current as a function of the isobutane purity.
