Abstract

1. For reliable prediction of HDPE long-term strength by parametric Larson-Miller and Manson-Haferd methods it is necessary to process experimental data corresponding to a single material fracture mode. 2. A temperature range has been determined (23 to 60 °C) in which prediction of HDPE long-term strength by the generalized diagram proposed by Kovpak gives good results. 3. The possibility has been demonstrated for predicting HDPE long-term strength by a generalized curve plotted using the TTA method. It is more correct to predict long-term strength with a single type of fracture over limited temperature ranges, i.e., 23 to 60 °C and 60 to 80 °C.
