Abstract

The chin is an important aspect of the impression of the face. Genioplasty is an operation method that is utilized for improving disharmony of the chin esthetics. Throughout the history of genioplasty, there have been multiple investigations into the stability of genioplasty, based on the fixation method used.1,2 However, there have been few studies regarding stability and soft tissue changes after vertical height reduction genioplasty (VHRG), and there has been no effort to determine sufficient stability after using biodegradable materials. The purpose of this study was to analyze the stability of VHRG using biodegradable material, as well as to determine vertical changes of hard and soft tissues during this procedure.
