Abstract
Subject. This article examines the problem of long-term planning and the role of natural, climatic, and industrial and economic features of the region in grain production. Objectives. The article aims to develop a long-term scenario forecast for the development of grain production in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, taking into account regional agro-climatic features. Methods. For the study, I used a factor analysis, simplex method of linear programming, and linear trends construction. Results. The article offers various forecasts for grain production in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast. Conclusions. The developed long-term scenario forecast for the development of grain production in the Nizhny Novgorod Oblast can be useful for the development of a regional strategy for the development of grain production.
