Abstract
Background: Stage IV breast cancer confers a poor prognosis with median survivals of 18-24 months. Surgical resection of hepatic metastasis is not a consensual treatment given the lack of evidence of benefit. The majority of patients are not fit for surgery because of the physical condition and disseminated disease, so the patients proposed to surgery are limited. The authors pretend to evaluate the long-term outcome of patients with breast cancer liver metastases submitted to hepatic surgery in one single institution.
