Abstract
Commonly used formulations of the Long-Term Generation Scheduling problem are briefly reviewed. Special consideration is given to the treatment of reliability and of stochastic inflows in hydro-thermal power systems with large percentages of hydro generation. Results of the application of the Aggregation-Decomposition approach to the colombian interconnected system including ten hydro chains are presented.
