Abstract
Long-term effects and the quality of life following definitive bile duct reconstruction
Highlights
Sarcopenia is defined as the degenerative loss of skeletal muscle and can be measured using the cross sectional diameter of the psoas muscle as found on computed tomography
We propose sarcopenia acts as an independent factor predictive of delayed gastric emptying (DGE) after PD
Our preliminary analysis suggests that sarcopenia is a predictor of DGE after PD
Summary
Strasberg type E injuries are the most severe type of bile duct injury. In the years after repair there is a significant risk of biliary complications such as stricture formation and recurrent cholangitis. This study aims to identify risk factors for long-term biliary complications and their clinical consequences
