Hypertension requires life-long therapy in order to prevent its devastating consequences. To accomplish these changes, systematic nursing strategies, using a health care team approach designed to motivate and educate the individual patient to accept ultimate responsibility for adherence to a therapeutic regimen, must be developed and implemented.
