Abstract
The study shows the data on the long-term changes in the Vallisneria spiralis L. population in the cooling pond of the Belovo power plant. It is shown that Vallisneria spiralis L. actively expanded in the pond over the 45-year period of its operation in the areas of maximal and moderate water heating. This period clearly demonstrates an increase in Vallisneria spiralis L. biomass in the phytocenoses.
