Abstract

By reducing the cavity losses of a neodymium YAG laser, a nearly spike free long pulse emission is obtained. The intracavity frequency doubling by a lithium iodate crystal produces 100 W pulses with 180 μs duration at a repetition rate up to 50 Hz. The overall efficiency for the 0.53 μm radiation is 0.06%.
