Atypical antipsychotic agents are moderately effective in the treatment of behavioral symptoms in patients with dementia.1 Failure to adhere to a prescribed medication regimen by patients with psychosis is one of the most frustrating problems faced by mental health care providers, because of the high risk of relapse associated with that situation.†‹
