Abstract

Abstract The paper seeks to frame a qualitative research on community integration in a rural place by the overview of literature of bonding communities and also by reviewing rural sociology literature on local community. This literature review has two main focal points. First we focus on theories of bonding community and community integration as key research topics. In addition rural community approach is introduced as a wider context and research framework. Identity building is a central topic in both bodies of literature and also institutionalism and policy based approach has significant emphasis in both approaches.
