Abstract
Solid waste is waste from society's consumption activities. These wastes without the proper final disposal have an impact on the environment and people's quality of life. Thinking about this issue, Reverse Logistics has become the tool for waste management. The objective of this paper is to present alternatives to reduce the environmental impacts caused by solid waste and the economic opportunities with its reuse. Regarding the method, we used surveys classified as explanatory and qualitative with the data collection typology being bibliographical. The results showed how solid waste is generated in Brazil and the main impacts caused by it, as well as the advantages of reuse through reverse logistics, whether environmental, social or economic-financial.
