Abstract

Abstract Monostyryl and distyryl-boradiazaindacene (BODIPY) derivatives are synthesized and characterized. Logic gate functions of the BODIPY derivatives are investigated under visible lights. Cu(II) ions and EDTA are chosen as inputs and the fluorescence intensity in 575 nm and 660 nm are observed as outputs for monostyryl and distyryl-BODIPY derivatives, respectively. Binding stoichiometry between BODIPY derivatives and Cu2+ ions are determined by using Job plot.
