Log System for Mass Crowd and Live Tracking Using Radio Frequency Based on IoT

Abstract

The attendance management system is a very critical and tedious process in an organization. The traditional attendance management takes much time to register and may lead to data entry errors. Automation in attendance management may reduce errors and improves teaching, learning and activities related to academics. The evolution of systems like barcode reader, biometric sensor, smart card also becoming more complex. In this project we propose a RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) based attendance system where the attendance is marked with the help of a unique tag. In recent years RFID has been on rise in various emerging fields. It opens up a new path to attendance management by using UHF RFID reader with IR sensor and passive tags without dealing with any queues and delay. It also provide location mapping of each moving entity in the organisations. The performance of proposed system is evaluated by comparing the time taken to record the attendance by RFID based system, barcode reader and traditional method. The main work of proposed system is implementation of passive RFID tag to each moving entity in organisation and sensing it by using UHF RFID reader for attendance management and live location spotting of that moving entity in organisation.
