Abstract

The present paper discusses locus standi in civil litigation in the Netherlands in comparative perspective. After outlining the Dutch court system in civil matters, the paper addresses the definition of a civil action, the requirement of interest in the action (pas d’ interet, pas d’action), standing of public authorities and third parties, and standing in collective interest litigation (mass litigation).
