Abstract

Genes c6, c7, and c8 have been located on the P1 map and gene cl has been relocated. Based on map location and phenotype, c6, c7, and c8 appear to differ from each other and from cl through c5. Class A virulent mutants are very closely linked to gene c1; they may be involved with control of c1 or may be a subclass of c 1 mutants. A mutant that complements with neither c4 mutants nor c1 mutants is also linked very tightly to gene c1 and may be a type of c 1 alteration.
