Abstract
Interference fringes or spectra are a common problem in infrared transmission spectroscopy. Several techniques are available for the elimination of fringes, including recording polarized spectra of samples mounted at the Brewster angle. subtraction of a sine wave, selection of experimental conditions so as to preclude the observation of fringes, and removal of the signature of the channel spectrum from the Fourier transform of the spectrum.
