Abstract

Abstract The channeling of 300 keV deuterons combined with the D(d, p)T reaction has been used to determine the positions of deuterium dissolved in niobium. The comparison of the experimental data with theoretical reaction yield calculations indicates that deuterium in niobium is located on tetrahedral lattice sites.
