Abstract

Various histological structures from rat brain prepared by the formaldehyde induced fluorescence method can be visualized with the help of illumination in tungsten light by using phase contrast condenser (without phase contrast objective). The procedure was found useful for the location of areas to be studied by subsequent fluorescence microscopy in order to relate the monoamine fluorescence to the histological structure.
