Abstract

Single-molecule localization microscopy has become an important part of the super-resolution microscopy toolbox in biomedical research. Software platforms for applying analytical methods to the point-based data structures are needed that offer both routine application and flexible customization of analysis procedures. We present a python library called LOCAN that consists of well-defined data structures and analysis methods for analyzing localization data in a script or computable notebook. The package source code is released open-source under a BSD-3 license at https://github.com/super-resolution/Locan. It can be installed from the Python Package Index at https://pypi.org/project/locan. Documentation is available at https://locan.readthedocs.io.
